Seasonal Celebrations in Evergreen: February & March Events in the Foothills

February & March Events in the Foothills

As winter begins to soften and we inch closer to spring, the foothills come alive with some of the most heartwarming community events of the year. From festive downtown strolls and family nights at the rec center to lake plunges, art receptions, and dances at the Lakehouse, February and March in Evergreen are filled with opportunities to gather, celebrate, and make memories. Here’s a curated roundup of some of my favorite local happenings you won’t want to miss.

2026 Annual Artist Reception | Mountain Home + Evergreen Design Center

February 20 ⼁5:00 PM – 8:00 PM  ⼁ Mountain Home, Evergreen

If you’re looking for something meaningful (and completely free!) way to spend an evening in Evergreen this February, the 2026 Annual Artist Reception at Mountain Home is one of those events that perfectly captures the creative spirit of our foothills community.

Hosted by the Evergreen Design Center and Mountain Home, this special evening celebrates Colorado artists with a curated showcase of stunning local artwork. You’ll have the opportunity to meet the artists in person, hear the stories behind their work, and enjoy appetizers and refreshments while you browse. It’s relaxed, welcoming, and truly community-centered — the kind of gathering where you run into friends and leave feeling inspired.

One of my favorite touches? The “Artist Passport.” Guests can visit each participating artist, collect signatures, and enter a raffle for an incredible gift basket featuring prizes from local businesses. (And you don’t even need to be present to win!)

Even more meaningful, 10% of all art sales during the event are donated to the Center for the Arts Evergreen — supporting the very creativity that makes this community so special.

If you can’t make the reception night, the artwork will remain on display from February 20th through March 6th, giving you plenty of time to stop in, explore, and perhaps take home a piece that speaks to you.

Events like this are a reminder that living in the foothills isn’t just about beautiful homes — it’s about being part of a vibrant, supportive community that values art, connection, and local talent.

Mountain Home kindly requests reservations for this special evening — please follow the link below to RSVP and reserve your spot!

Active4All Evergreen Lake Plunge | Evergreen Parks & Recreation District

NEW DATE ALERT!

March 1⼁ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm ⼁ Evergreen Lake

If you’ve ever lived in the foothills long enough, you know we don’t shy away from a little cold — and the Active4All Evergreen Lake Plunge is proof of that. Originally scheduled for New Year’s Day and postponed due to thin ice and warm temps, this beloved community tradition is back on for March 1… and yes, it’s time to take the plunge.

Participants are encouraged to come dressed in their wildest costumes, gather their bravest friends, and dash into the icy waters of Evergreen Lake — all for an incredible cause. Afterward, you can warm up with hot drinks and treats while celebrating with fellow plungers and spectators. It’s equal parts hilarious, heartwarming, and uniquely Evergreen.

What makes this event especially meaningful is where the proceeds go. The majority benefit INSPIRE, a local organization providing inclusive recreation opportunities for individuals with disabilities — creating real impact for participants and their families right here in our community.

The event is hosted by Active4All, the charitable partner of the Evergreen Park & Recreation District. Founded in 1989, Active4All is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to enhancing quality of life in our mountain community by raising funds to improve parks, programs, and recreational facilities. Their mission is simple and powerful: ensure everyone has access to recreation and the outdoors. Every dollar raised helps create a healthier, more connected Evergreen.

Whether you’re plunging or cheering from the sidelines, this is one of those spirited community events that reminds us how much fun it is to show up for each other.

Be sure to visit the EPRD website (linked here) for registration information.

Shamrocks & Shenanigans | Downtown Evergreen

March 9⼁ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm ⼁ Downtown Evergreen Shops

If there’s ever a town perfectly named for St. Patrick’s festivities, it’s Evergreen. Shamrocks & Shenanigans is one of those charming, small-town events that reminds you why we love living here.

From 4–7pm on March 9th, Historic Downtown Evergreen turns into a playful celebration of all things green. Families and friends are invited to dress in their best emerald-inspired outfits and stroll through town spotting stuffed leprechauns hidden inside participating shops and restaurants. Each discovery brings the chance to win gold coins, fun prizes, and special discounts— making it equal parts scavenger hunt and community celebration.

What I love most about this event is how it brings people into our local businesses in such a lighthearted, interactive way. It’s not just about prizes, it’s about wandering downtown, popping into your favorite spots (and maybe discovering a new one), and running into neighbors along the way. The energy feels festive but relaxed— perfect for families, date nights, or a fun after-school outing.

Events like this are such a sweet reminder that in Evergreen, celebrating doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it’s as simple as wearing green, hunting for leprechauns, and enjoying an evening in our beautiful mountain town.

Father Daughter Dance | Evergreen Park & Recreation District

March 13⼁ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm ⼁ Evergreen Lake House

There’s something timeless about a Father Daughter Dance — and when it’s set at the Evergreen Lakehouse, it feels even more special.

This beloved community evening invites fathers and daughters (along with moms, sons, and the whole family!) to dress up in their fancy attire and enjoy a night filled with music, games, and sweet memories. With the lake as the backdrop and the Lakehouse glowing in the evening light, it’s the kind of setting that makes the night feel just a little magical.

Dessert and drinks are included, so you can focus on what really matters — hitting the dance floor, laughing through the games, and maybe even snapping a few photos you’ll treasure for years to come. While dinner isn’t provided, the event is perfectly timed for a fun night out after a family meal.

Recommended for youth ages 3–12, this dance is all about connection — carving out intentional time together in a world that moves quickly. I love events like this because they create those core memories kids carry with them long after the music fades.

Be sure to visit the Evergreen Park & Recreation District website (linked here) for event details and registration information — this is one of those heartwarming community traditions you won’t want to miss.

Shamrock Shuffle | Evergreen Park & Recreation District

March 17⼁ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm ⼁ Evergreen Lakehouse

If you’re looking for a lively way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day right here in the foothills, the Shamrock Shuffle at the Evergreen Lakehouse is pure festive fun.

Hosted by EPRD and the Active Adult Programs team, this St. Patrick’s Day–themed line dance brings together traditional Irish-inspired music, simple instruction, light refreshments, games, and plenty of laughter. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or someone who just wants an excuse to wear green and try something new, this event is designed to be welcoming and upbeat.

The dances will be led by the talented Treena McCurdy, who provides easy-to-follow instruction before dancing along with the group — making it approachable for everyone. I love events like this because they create instant connection. There’s something about learning a few simple steps together that breaks the ice and turns neighbors into friends.

The Shamrock Shuffle takes place Tuesday, March 17th from 6:00–9:00pm at the Evergreen Lakehouse, and all attendees must register online in advance. Spots are limited, so it’s best to secure yours early.

Pull out your best green outfit, lace up your dancing shoes, and get ready for a St. Patty’s celebration that feels equal parts festive and community-centered.

You can head to the EPRD website (linked here) to register and find additional event details.
