Evergreen’s Thoughtfully Curated Mountain Lifestyle Shop

One of the things I love most about Evergreen is the people– the creativity, the heart, and the businesses that truly reflect our mountain lifestyle. This month, I’m excited to highlight a local gem in Bergen Park: Quiver.

Quiver is a locally owned, consciously curated hub for men’s and women’s apparel and adventure goods and it’s quickly become a favorite within our community. While it was originally known as a men’s-only clothing store, Quiver has recently expanded to include women’s apparel, making it an even more inclusive and exciting stop for locals and visitors alike.

Owners Jim and Katie Compton opened Quiver as a passion project years in the making. With lifelong careers in the apparel industry and roots in surf, snow, and action sports, they’ve built something that blends coastal culture with mountain living. From the Atlantic surf scene to Southern California snow culture, to years working together as sales reps for Quiksilver and Roxy in Central America, their journey eventually led them right here to Evergreen.

“Katie and I have been in and around this industry our entire lives. When we moved to Evergreen seven years ago, we fell in love with the community and we wanted to be a bigger part of it,” Jim Compton told Mountain Life Magazine.

When they moved here, they didn’t want to change the community — they wanted to complement it.

“We wondered what would complement rather than change the community, and felt there was an opportunity for a shop like this,” Jim Compton, Mountain Life Magazine.

And that’s exactly what Quiver is: a shop that feels like Evergreen. The clothing is refined yet relaxed– think pieces you can wear while raking leaves in the yard, heading into town for a drink, or packing for a weekend in the mountains. It’s versatile, comfortable, and intentional and basically what I’d refer to as a true reflection of the Colorado lifestyle.

What truly sets Quiver apart is their commitment to quality and purpose. Every brand is thoughtfully chosen— not because it’s trendy, but because it aligns with their values. Many of the brands they carry focus on fair-trade practices, organic materials, and responsible production. There’s no filler here, everything has earned its place on the racks.

Beyond apparel, Quiver carries snowboards and adventure goods— again, only from brands they genuinely believe in. As lifelong snowboarders, Jim and Katie approach gear with the same care and passion as clothing: small batch, high quality, and built to last.

But perhaps the most special thing about Quiver is the feeling of the store itself.

Located in the Bergen Village Shopping Center, Quiver has become part of a supportive micro-community of local businesses. More than that, it’s a place where people stop in just to say hello– not necessarily to shop, but to connect.

“Evergreen is so spread out. We want to be a hub of sorts,” Jim Compton, Mountain Life Magazine. “You don’t have to purchase something every time you come in here. We don’t want to only be consumer-facing. We want to just be in Evergreen—it’s home.”

Quiver isn’t just a store, it’s a reflection of what makes Evergreen special: authenticity, intention, connection, and a deep appreciation for the lifestyle we’re lucky enough to live every day.
