Spring Events Across the Foothills
March 15 - April 15
There’s something about spring in the Colorado foothills that feels especially energizing. As the snow begins to soften, trails reopen, patios fill, and our mountain towns come alive with community gatherings, family traditions, and outdoor adventure. From Evergreen to Conifer to Golden, this season brings a calendar full of events that celebrate everything we love about living here — connection, creativity, fresh air, and a strong sense of local spirit. Below, you’ll find some of the most anticipated spring events happening across the foothills, each offering its own way to get out, get involved, and soak up the season.
Shamrock Shuffle
March 17⼁ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm ⼁ Evergreen Lake House
If you’re looking for a lively way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day right here in the foothills, the Shamrock Shuffle at the Evergreen Lakehouse is pure festive fun.
Hosted by EPRD and the Active Adult Programs team, this St. Patrick’s Day–themed line dance brings together traditional Irish-inspired music, simple instruction, light refreshments, games, and plenty of laughter. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or someone who just wants an excuse to wear green and try something new, this event is designed to be welcoming and upbeat.
The dances will be led by the talented Treena McCurdy, who provides easy-to-follow instruction before dancing along with the group — making it approachable for everyone. I love events like this because they create instant connection. There’s something about learning a few simple steps together that breaks the ice and turns neighbors into friends.
The Shamrock Shuffle takes place Tuesday, March 17th from 6:00–9:00pm at the Evergreen Lakehouse, and all attendees must register online in advance. Spots are limited, so it’s best to secure yours early.
Pull out your best green outfit, lace up your dancing shoes, and get ready for a St. Patty’s celebration that feels equal parts festive and community-centered.

All-Out Spring Fever
March 22⼁ 9:00 am⼁Ralston Creek Trail
Lace up and shake off winter at All-Out Spring Fever, a high-energy spring race set against the stunning backdrop of Golden. With 5K, 10K, and half-marathon options, the courses follow the scenic Ralston Creek Trail, offering sweeping views of North Table Mountain and Blunn Reservoir as you log your miles. It’s the kind of route that reminds you why we all choose to live and move in the foothills.
What makes this event especially fun is the atmosphere — competitive runners chasing a PR, weekend warriors soaking up the sunshine, and neighbors cheering along the path. It’s an official qualifier for the BOLDERBoulder and supports UpRoot Colorado, so there’s both momentum and meaning behind every step.
If you’re spectating, Ralston Creek Trail offers great viewing spots where you can cheer runners on more than once. And once everyone’s crossed the finish line, head into downtown Golden for a well-earned coffee at Higher Grounds Cafe or brunch at The Golden Mill — because no spring race is complete without a little post-run celebration.

Anything But Ski Clothes
March 29⼁ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm ⼁ Echo Mountain
*Lift ticket or season pass is required to participate
Get ready to trade your traditional ski gear for something a little more unexpected at Anything But Ski Clothes at Echo Mountain. This lighthearted day on the slopes invites skiers and riders to swap out their usual outerwear for creative (but still warm!) alternatives—think retro snowsuits, cozy sweats, costumes, or your most imaginative cold-weather combo. It’s all about having fun, embracing the playful side of mountain life, and showing off your offbeat slope style. As a thank-you for joining in, participants receive a free side and non-alcoholic drink from the café. Just be sure your outfit is weather-appropriate and family-friendly—safety first, even when you’re making a statement!

Easter Egg Hunt
April 4⼁ 9:00 am - 11:00 am ⼁ Echo Mountain
Celebrate spring with a mountain twist at the Easter Egg Hunt on the tubing hill at Echo Mountain. Instead of green grass, little ones will be dashing through the snow in search of colorful eggs — and honestly, it doesn’t get much more Colorado than that. Age-specific hunt times keep things fun and fair (with only 12 spots per group, it fills quickly), and the festivities run from 9–10am.
After the last egg is found, the fun continues with a special tubing hour from 10–11am just for participants. Kiddos must be at least 36" tall to tube, but even the tiniest egg hunters are welcome to join the search and soak in the excitement. It’s the kind of morning that brings rosy cheeks, happy giggles, and a reminder that spring in the foothills has its own playful personality.

Get inspired for the season ahead at the Foothills Home & Garden Show, a beloved spring tradition in the foothills that’s all about ideas, local makers, and community connection. Hosted at Conifer High School each April, this volunteer-run show brings together around 80 local exhibitors—from home improvement pros and landscape designers to artisans, chefs, and makers—to share fresh ideas for your projects indoors and out.
Admission and parking are free, and the energy is just right for a relaxed weekend of inspiration: explore booths at your own pace, discover new products and services tailored to mountain homes, and chat with neighbors and creators who love this region as much as you do. While you’re there, grab a bite from the food truck out front and feel good knowing proceeds benefit local causes through the Evergreen and Conifer Rotary Foundations.
Whether you’re planning a renovation, refreshing your garden, or just looking for a fun community outing, this show is a highlight of the season—and a great way to celebrate foothills living.
