The 60th Annual Evergreen Fine Arts Festival lands at Buchanan Fields on August 22 and 23, 2026. The venue is the baseball field at 32003 Ellingwood Trail, at the intersection of Evergreen Parkway and Squaw Pass Road, which puts the festival grounds roughly ten minutes from your driveway if you take Stagecoach down to Highway 74 and turn north.
Buchanan Fields is not new to this rhythm. The same ground hosts the Center for the Arts Evergreen Summerfest each July, which drew more than 115 artists to a two-day booth setup in 2026. What makes the August weekend different is the show's age and its jury. This is the 60th year of a festival that has been run, since its founding in 1958 and its nonprofit incorporation in 1972, by the Evergreen Artists Association rather than an outside promoter.
Getting in without circling

- Free shuttles: Two off-site lots at Bergen Meadow Elementary and Evergreen Middle School run a free shuttle to the festival gate roughly every twenty minutes, starting at 9:50 a.m.
- Best window from Stagecoach: The shuttle timing means the pinch point on Evergreen Parkway is between roughly 10:15 and 11:15 both mornings. Coming down before 10 or after noon usually spares you the crawl.
- On foot from the Elk Meadow side: If you park at the Elk Meadow trailhead access at Buchanan Park Rec Center, you are already on the same parcel as the festival field.
That last point matters more in August than in other months, because the Rec Center trailhead is also a race staging area.

The Evergreen Recreation Trail Race Series wraps its 2026 season on Saturday, August 22, with a 5K and 10K over the rolling terrain of Elk Meadow, and the half-marathon option climbing to the top of Bergen Peak. Check-in opens at 6 a.m. at the Elk Meadow trailhead at Buchanan Park Rec Center, with a 7 a.m. start.

The Ducky Derby row is worth a second look for anyone who bought a duck this year. The race, which sent more than 7,700 numbered ducks down Bear Creek from an 85-foot ladder fire engine on August 1, publishes winning numbers on the Downtown Evergreen event page, and unclaimed prizes go to Sweetwater Boutique in the downtown corridor through the middle of the month.
The downtown pairing after the festival
The finish line of the Ducky Derby is the same downtown block you want after a Saturday walking booths at Buchanan Fields. Highland Haven Creekside Inn sits directly on Bear Creek at the downtown edge, and the path that connects Downtown Evergreen to Evergreen Lake follows the creek the whole way around the lake. From the festival, you can be at a downtown table in under fifteen minutes.
